The Scottish Cot Death Trust is the only charity in Scotland dedicated to the issue of sudden unexpected death in babies and young children and trying to find the answers through a combination of funding and research. After making a video for the Scottish Cot Death Trust detailing the sort of support that they offered to families two years ago, we teamed up with them again to create this film. We are proud that the work we did for this organisation has been recognised by the Charity Today Awards.

Cot Death is a sensitive subject that has to be handled with the upmost care. When we created this film, we were aware of the challenge of delivering an impactful message without distancing or disengaging our audience. We created a film that would be appreciated by adults and delivering a simple and clear message by representing the physical loss of each child in the empty classroom. Because the film was set to coincide with typical ‘Back to School’ advertisements, it was also important to deliver this message in a way that would not scare or negatively impact younger viewers.
