Be clear about your audience

Tell us your purpose

What are you trying to achieve with this video?

There’s no point in just making a video for the sake of it, so make sure you have a clear idea of what you want the end result to be.

    • Are you offering training advice?
    • Maybe you want new customers to know the history of your brand, or the personalities who work in your team?
  • Do you simply want to show how good your product it? Let us know.

Don’t brief the interviewees

It may sound like a cruel trick, but it’s actually a tried and tested method for getting the best performance out of people who aren’t used to being on camera.

If they know the questions ahead of time and rehearse in order to recite fancy phrases and buzzwords, it all becomes too stiff and scripted.

Simply tell them the topics that will be covered and leave the rest to us.

Make sure everyone is available

One of the biggest hold-ups can be pinning down of the people who need to be filmed, so try to make sure everyone is available and aims to stick to the schedule as much as possible.

Obviously unplanned obstacles are inevitable, but it’s great if we can get access to the people who are essential to the video.

Relax

We make videos every day and it really is going to be a to easier than you think!
