Things have been pretty busy over the past few months at Production Attic! From corporate training tutorials to music videos, our team have been working hard at making the best quality content for our clients.

A few months ago we were contacted by the Scottish Green Party and asked to make their party election broadcast for the upcoming council elections on the 4th of May. Being a company that shares many values with the Green Party, we jumped at the chance to be able to support and promote their manifesto through creating a video encapsulating their vision. However, there was one catch: the turnaround for the video was less than a month. This meant that we had to adhere to a tight schedule, whilst making sure that the production ran smoothly.

After various pre-production meetings, scouting for locations, finding (unpaid) actors and volunteers, re-drafting scripts and finding a suitable track to feature within the video*, we finally had a solid plan for the broadcast. We filmed it within 5 days, edited it within a week (including receiving feedback, recording a voiceover and adding any additional changes) then had it ready for television broadcast within the following days.

Working within the film industry means that we face many challenges day-to-day – and this production was no different – but we believe that overcoming these obstacles is one of the most rewarding aspects of being involved in this field. We wouldn’t have it any other way and that’s why we love what we do!

* A special thanks goes to the Glasgow-based female-led band, TeenCanteen, for allowing us to use their track “How We Met (Cherry Pie)”. It was important for us to use music by homegrown musicians and support our local thriving music scene!
