We partnered with Maverick Games to capture an unforgettable team-building adventure inspired by Top Gear. Tasked with filming a dynamic 10-minute documentary, we followed the Maverick team on an exhilarating road trip from Warwick to the sun-soaked landscapes of the South of France. With a mix of high-speed thrills, camaraderie, and breathtaking scenery, MAV1K showcases the spirit of innovation and teamwork that drives the gaming industry’s boldest creators.

The MAV1K is a prodction from our Disk Two brand (special features for film, TV, animation and Video games). From in-car moments of reflection to sweeping drone shots of the open road, our production crew ensured every frame told a compelling story. Balancing cinematic visuals with authentic interactions, we crafted a film that not only highlights the journey itself but also the passion and creativity of Maverick Games. MAV1K is more than just a road trip—it’s a testament to pushing boundaries, whether in game development or on the asphalt.

Let's demystify the process of video production. We estimate this example to cost around £35-50k because we logged roughly:

20 days of production management which is high as we scripted and directed a narrative based film. As a ballpark we estimate 1/2 day management per day of shoot and edit. This could be higher for complex projects or lower if you can help with the creative or coordination. This includes scheduling, edit supervision and producing documentation such as risk assessments.

7 day shoot which means there must have been things that could not all be fit into fewer days. Filming is priced at a day rate for crew and equipment so we always aim to film as much as we can on a single day. This is not always possible due to location/participant availability.

2 cameras used as one camera is often sufficient but we would suggest additional when there's multiple processes/people that need to be filmed at the same time or if we need to capture multiple angles of the same thing that we can't simply repeat.

We recorded audio as adding a Producer to the shoot to coordinate interviews, vox pops and other audio is a very cost effective way of adding a clear narrative to your films and we are experts at getting relaxed and natural performances.

A drone & car mounted camera was used to capture cinematic shots. Tripod / handheld shots are effective but where the budget allows the inclusion of an additional crew member with cinematic kit like this (eg a slider / crane / drone) can really elevate the production value.

20 days of post production time. Generally the length of post production depends on the volume of footage, number of deliverable versions (eg social cuts) and rounds of revisions budgeted. This was not consecutive days as we leave gaps for client feedback.

No voiceover recorded by us. VO is very effective but requires actor fees as well as scripting, recording and editing time. We only suggest professional VO if there's not a more cost effective way to convey information such as interviews, on screen text or a recording provided by your team.

Animation / graphic design formed some of the post production. We can design simple titles or use stock animation as part of the edit process but where possible, as we did here, we suggest budgeting for original animation to elevate and brand any film.

Documentary
This short documentary, and cut down social edit, explores the issue of institutionalisation, shedding light on its impact through real-life experiences. Over approximately five minutes, the film presents key facts about institutionalisation alongside deeply personal interviews with individuals who have been directly affected. These interviews provide a powerful, firsthand perspective on how institutional settings can strip people of autonomy, dignity, and the right to independent living. By combining factual insights with emotional testimonies, the documentary aims to raise awareness, challenge perceptions, and advocate for a human-rights-based approach to care and support.

Recovery Conference 2025
Event Coverage
We covered the Scottish Recovery Consortium Conference in Perth, capturing the energy and atmosphere of the day in a short highlights film. Filming with two cameras, we were able to showcase both the main stage presentations and the wider event, blending dynamic shots of speakers with moments from around the venue. Alongside this, we gathered b-roll of attendees, networking sessions, and activities, plus aerial footage from our drone to give a sense of place and scale.
