In part two of our blog series on video marketing trends in 2013 we will be looking at who is using video marketing, and why.

The information contained in in this post is taken from a survey performed on over 600 marketing professionals, and is courtesy of a report published by the Web Video Marketing Council, ReelSEO and Flimp Media. And that’s the answer. I’ve answered my own question by stating who was involved in this survey. Professional marketers are using video.

The percentage of marketing professionals using video as part of their strategy has been increasing year on year. 70% of marketers in 2011 said they were using video as part of their work. In 2013 that number has risen to over 93%!

Evidently we chose the right career.

I think what is most interesting about this are the reasons why people are using video to promote themselves and their business. 82% of those who use video feel that it has an overwhelmingly positive impact on their business.

To give you an idea of how people view video as having a positive impact on their business I’ve included links to two recent testimonial videos for Production Attic below. In these, our clients speak specifically about how video has had a meaningful impact on their business, so it’s not just to show off!

So we can see that professional marketers are using video more and more, because it works! Video has a meaningful impact and, when it’s done right, can bring your brand and image to people across the planet.

Budgets spent on video are expanding each year too, as video proves that it is successful. Over 70% of those surveyed, 84% of which are key decision makers, have stated that budgets for video will increase this year, even more than in 2012. As the cost of video drops due to new technology emerging, it seems that more video is being produced for marketing and communication purposes than ever before.

If you haven’t already started using video as part of your marketing strategy, maybe it’s time you reconsidered?

This is part two of a series on emerging video trends in 2013. The next video will be looking at why people choose to not use video. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn to be alerted when we release our next update. Stay tuned!
